What is X-SEED?
Ⅰ What is X-SEED?
“X-SEED” is the first and only advanced design course in Japan that is offered in English and Japanese. In order to educate creators and designers who can work not only in Japan but also in the world, this course will recruit a group of students in the field of design with a high potential from worldwide countries. In the future, when the X-SEED graduates are recognized for their future possibilities in fashion industry, they will become new members of “atelier X-SEED” department, which supports them to prepare for their worldwide fashion debut.

世界で活躍できる「クリエイティブディレクター」「ファッションデザイナー」を育成するために全ての授業を英語と日本語で実施する日本唯一の最高峰マスターコース。1年間のコースには2回のデビューステージが用意され、バイヤー、ショップディレクターに向けた展示会でセールス活動を実施して、リアルデビューを実現します。
Ⅱ Studying Design in Japan
◆Located in Tokyo which is one of the fashion capitals of the world, Shibuya is a place that has unique design sensibility which inspires creators and designers from all over the world. Through studying in the heart of Tokyo, students can acquire this special sensitivity towards fashion design and latest trends closely as part of the creative community. ◆世界中のトップクリエイターが必ずリサーチする「TOKYOストリート」。高感度・流行最先端の街「TOKYO・渋谷エリア」で学ぶことによってイマジネーション力・デザイン力・クリエイション力を高めることができます。
◆Students can also learn about Japanese subcultures such as the Cos-play, Gothic Lolita, and Manga, all of which have been increasingly gaining international attention. ◆欧米からも注目されている日本独自のサブカルチャー（ゴシック&ロリータ、コスチューム、マンガ、アニメ・・・）に触れられます。
◆Students can receive a sophisticated education supported by Japan apparel and textile industry, which already have a high level of technique and the ability to develop. ◆高い技術力と開発力を持った日本のアパレル・繊維産業のサポートする教育を受けられます。

Ⅲ Language Tutoring

Ⅳ Three Special Features of the Curriculum
Ⅰ Class by Fashion Professionals and Designers
Because all classes of X-SEED program are taught by professionals and designers in fashion industry, X-SEED program can guide you to the final goal, worldwide fashion debut.

Ⅱ Class in English
A class is carried on in English with faculty who has experience abroad. There is bilingual staff on a full-time basis to support the class.

Ⅲ Class on Sales Direction
A sales professional teaches a class to help students to create a marketing plan on how to promote there brand successfully in the fashion market today. 		Ⅰ プロフェッショナル(活躍中のコレクションデザイナーなど)による授業
X-SEEDは全て、活躍中のプロフェッショナルによる授業です。既に、活躍しているプロだからこそ、リアル・デビューに結びつく授業運営が可能となります。

Ⅱ 英語での授業
授業は全て海外で活躍経験のある講師による英語と日本語の授業です。英語能力のあるスタッフが常勤しており、的確な授業サポートを実施します。

Ⅲ セールスディレクションの授業
セールスのプロフェッショナルによる授業を実施します。オリジナルブランドの市場性、プロモーションの方法などの戦略を立案します。

An alumni from X-SEED AGURI SAGIMORI 2009 S/S COLLECTION
AGURI SAGIMORI 鷺森アグリ
First admitted to Vantan Design Institute to specialize in fashion studies in 2004, Aguri Sagimori studied fashion design for three years and then went on to enroll in the Collection Line Course of the newly established X-SEED program in 2007. At merely 22 years old, Sagimori established her own brand called Aguri Sagimori and became the youngest person in the history of Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo to show a collection.
In April 2008, Sugamori entered the Vantan atelier X-SEED. After her 3rd collection in the Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo in March 2009, she has been gaining popularity and media attention within the Japanese apparel industry. In October, 2009 Sagamori took part in the atelier X-SEED exhibition held in Paris to start her international career.		 2004年バンタンデザイン研究所に入学。在学中に数々のコンテストで受賞を果たし、2007年X-seedクラス（第一期生）に進学。2008年3月には若干22歳という若さで、自身のブランド「AGURI SAGIMORI」を立ち上げ、東京コレクションにおいて至上最年少でデビューを果たした。
2008年4月よりインキュベーション機関「atelier X-seed」に参加。2009年3月には自身三度目の東京コレクションに出展・業界・各メディアから新進気鋭のデザイナーとして注目を集め続けている。さらに2009年10月には、パリで開催される合同展示会「Vantan TOKYO」に出展。世界への挑戦がいよいよ始まる。

MICHAIL GKINIS

MICHAIL GKINISAkira Naka graduated from The Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, attended in Fashion Department. While in school, he was selected a finalist of the Hyeres International Mode Festival 2005. After graduation, he was trained under knit designer, Els Arnols, in Antwerp and returned to Japan in 2006. The following year, he launched his first line, “POESIE” which was renamed to “AKIRA NAKA” in 2009.

MICHAIL GKINIS

MICHAIL GKINISMichail Gkinis graduated from London University of Luton in 1996 majoring in Marketing.
Afterwards, he studied Men's Wear design and completed his Fashion studies from London College of Fashion in 2004. While in school, Michail worked as a design intern in the Men's wear department of Issey Miyake. In 2009, Michail launched a Men's wear brand called“aptform”in the Japan Fashion week 08-09A/W. Since then, he has gained media attention in not only Japan but also abroad.
YOSHIKAZU YAMAGATA

YOSHIKAZU YAMAGATAYoshikazu Yamagata is a graduate from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2005.
After working as a design assistant for John Galliano, Yamagata returned to Japan. He then established anapparel company called writtenafterwards inc., and joined Japan Fashion Week from September, 2008. In 2009, he presented his opening fashion show in Arnhem Mode Biennnale.

Application Eligibility
  • Language: Must be proficient in English and Japanese.
  • Please send any certification of English efficiency if available via e-mail.
  • Design: Any previous work will be reviewed during the interview process.
  • Portfolio: If available, portfolios will also be reviewed during the interview process.
応募資格
  • 語学：英会話力もしくは、日本語会話力
    (英会話が日常会話レベル) (TOEFL、IELTS等、および本国での英語成績を証明できるものがあれば、出願時に書類添付して頂きます)
  • デザイン：面接時に実物作品（洋服）とデザイン画審査
  • ポートフォリオ：面接時にポートフォリオ（作品集）審査
Duration & Tuition
  • Duration: 1 Year (From April 2012 to March 2013)
  • Tuition (X-SEED program + Japanese language program)
    1 year course tuition \1,250,000.
＜Scholarship＞
  • First Scholarship ⇒ \1,250,000 Full scholarship (1 year tuition is remitted.)
  • Second Scholarship ⇒ \700,000 scholarship (half of full tuition is remitted)
期間&学費

  • 期間：1年(2013年4月～2014年3月)

  • 学費（X-SEED＋日本語一年間教育費　125万円）
  • 特待生：

    奨学生(1名～5名) 奨学金70万円(X-SEED授業料免除)

    準奨学生(3名～5名)奨学金25万円(入学金免除)
