Every year, VDI students have the opportunity to participate in various VDI fashion shows and other artistic showcases. These events challenge students to continue developing and expanding their abilities while providing them with the exposure necessary to the pursuit of an artist’s career. These events are completely student-run and are the most cherished memories for our students at VDI.

Brand Contest is an all school contest for an original brand design concept. Individual and group entries are welcome. Winning entries are exhibited at the final event. This event has launched designers such as Ms. Itabashi and Ms. Kikuchi of PANORAMA and Mr. Kawaka of ATLANTIS. The event is held before a large audience. The Grand Prix winner has opportunities for overseas training and media exposure.

Many industry watchers believe that being the best stylist at VDI means being the best stylist in Japan. Many of our former students have established careers and reputations as excellent stylists. For many, the Runway Wave event was the gateway to success. In this event, each contestant is given a theme, which he/she must express through fashion and is judged by a panel of well-known designers. The winner will receive many great prizes including the opportunity to train overseas.

This event includes a hairstyling and make-up competition followed by a professional demonstration. This event highlights the infinite possibilities of hair styling and make-up art and challenges our students to achieve even higher goals.

This is a fashion photography exhibition. Students must enter as a group which consists of members in charge of fashion co-ordination, make-up, and hair styling in addition to photography. Several groups have stayed together after graduation and worked as a professional team. The fashion industry's top professionals judge this competition.

This competition begins with the Fashion Styling Lab students' concept for a store. Their concept requires careful development based on the target market. The Interior Lab students then build the store, turning concept into reality. Actual merchandize is sold during the exhibition.

Vantan hosts this event with leading cosmetic brands. The exhibition features a beauty salon on stage where students demonstrate their make-up and manicure techniques.

This is a furniture design competition in which students are judged by the originality and marketability of their design. The winning design will be manufactured and sold under VDI’s brand name.

This is a competition in which students from various departments including hair-styling, make-up, dress making and photography work together to put on a simulated wedding pageant.

This is our spring exhibition that features the talents of our graduating students.
